Santa's Vacation Getaway!
Merry Christmas!Last year Brody's encounter with Santa did not go over well - AT ALL! So this year, shortly after Halloween, we started reading Christmas books and checking out Santa websites to get everyone "prepared" for our first meeting of the season with the jolly old fellow. December 12th was the big meeting....we headed with kids to Mountsberg, where we had a horse and wagon ride to Santa's Cottage and we would all go as a family to spend some quality time with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Much to my dismay (or relief - it's a bit of both), Brody was more content to play with the trains and cars then to sit on Santa's lap - when we pointed out who was here, he couldn't care less - it didn't phase him at all! The girls did not play shy with Santa, in fact, at one point Kaitlyn leaned across Mike to "talk" to Santa. She's a flirt, so we weren't really surprised;) Chloe was just taking it all in, and if I hadn't been holding her she may have melted, but she kept herself composed. Eventually, we were able to convince Brody that he should come and see Santa. He told Santa that he'd like a RED DUMP TRUCK (WHAT??? he told me he wanted trains!!!!) He also said that Kaitlyn and Chloe would like one too (covering all bases - pretty clever!)
Later on that day, we went to another Christmas party with our friends. Santa was there also and again, Brody told him that he and his sisters would like a RED DUMP TRUCK (he's determined to get this gift - uh oh!!) Since last weekend, Brody has asked Mike and I if he gets to see Santa today. He likely wants to make sure he gets that RED DUMP TRUCK.....Santa's working on it!
